Kyoto Jazz Massive待望の2nd アルバム、『Message From A New Dawn』。東京、シンガポール、ロシアで実験的に先行ライブを行い、全曲オリジナルで新曲の完全バ
ンド録音を敢行。参加メンバーは、Vanessa Freeman、池田憲一 (ROOT SOUL)、金子巧 (cro-magnon)、タケウチカズタケ (A Hundred Birds)、中里たかし、福森康、
タブ・ゾンビ (SOIL&”PIMP”SESSIONS)、ウイーン・フィル交響楽団のKirill Kobantschenko、伝説のジャズ・ヴィブラフォン奏者Roy Ayers。ボーカルの録音とミックス・ダウンは、Reel PeopleやThe Realmの活動でも知られ、Moodymannの『Taken Away』に収録された「Let me Show Your Love」では、プロデューサー、ドラム・プログラマー、ミックス・エンジニアとして参加したToni Economidesが手掛けた。また、マスタリングをThe Tito Lopez Comboのレコーディングでそのキャリアをスタートさせ、４つのグラミー賞の候補になったラテン・プロジェクトにも関わったNeil Picklesに依頼。アート・ワークは沖野兄弟がディレクションし、若林広幸建築を沖野修也が撮影した。デザインは、LISTのNao Nomuraが担当。
As Kyoto Jazz Massive Live the band performed experimental live shows in Tokyo, Singapore and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia with all new original songs before recording ‘Message From A New Dawn’ three years ago.
Members include Vanessa Freeman, Kenichi Ikeda (ROOT SOUL), Takumi Kaneko (cro-magnon), Kaztake Takeuchi (A Hundred Birds), Takashi Nakazato, Yasushi Fukumori, Tabu Zombie (SOIL&”PIMP”SESSIONS),adding Kirill Kobantschenko of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and legendary jazz vibraphonist Roy Ayers for recording.
The vocals were recorded and mixed down by Toni Economides known also for his work with Reel People and The Realm and for being the producer,drum programmer and mix engineer for ‘Let Me Show You Love’ on Moodymann’s latest album ‘Taken Away’.
The mastering was done by Neil Pickles who started his career recording for The Tito Lopez Combo and has been involved in four Grammy nominated Latin projects. The artwork was directed by the Okino brothers featuring the architecture of Hiroyuki Wakabayashi and was photographed by Shuya Okino. The design was produced by Nao Nomura of LIST.

沖野修也と沖野好洋から成る兄弟DJユニット。1992年イギリスのジャズ・シーンの第一人者、Gilles Petersonに命名される。1994年にコンピレーション・アルバム『Kyoto
Jazz Massive/V.A.』をファーライフ・レコードより発表。2000年にCompost Recordsからリリースしたシングル、「Eclipes」がBBCラジオで3週連続No.1の座を獲得。2002年ファースト・アルバム『Spirit Of The Sun』を発表。全世界デビューを果たす。2004年からはKyoto Jazz Massive Live Setを始動。国内外のフェスに出演し、ヨーロッパ・ツアーも行った。兄、修也は渋谷The Roomの、弟好洋は大阪のEspecialRecordsのオーナーでもある。
The DJ Unit of brothers Shuya Okino and Yoshihiro Okino.
Named by Gilles Peterson, a leading figure in the British jazz scene, in 1992,they released a compilation album ‘Kyoto Jazz Massive/V.A.’ on Far Life Records in 1994.
In 2000 KJM released the single ‘Eclipse’ on Compost Records, scoring No.1 on BBC Radio Zubb charts for three consecutive weeks.
2002 saw the release of their first album and worldwide debut ‘Spirit Of The Sun’.
Kyoto Jazz Massive Live Set was formed in 2004 and have appeared at festivals
all over the world and toured Europe.
Shuya is the owner of The Room Shibuya and Yoshihiro is the owner of Especial
Records in Osaka.
